Fr Peter is an Adjunct Lecturer in Psychology and Family Therapy in the Institute. Following philosophical and theological training for the priesthood, he completed a MA in 1964, and a PhD in 1966, both at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC. He did a post-doctoral year at the University of Munich and a Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis at the University of Melbourne. For the past ten years he has been heavily involved in both lecturing and clinical work. He is currently coordinating a Graduate Diploma in Couples and Family Therapy at Swinburne University for post-graduate clinical practitioners and teaches in the Yarra Theological Union. He is also involved in establishing the new national accreditation system for all clinical workers (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia), the first of its kind in this country. His publications include "Counselling Today's Youth" (1973), "The Hair-Raising Generation" (1976), "Ongoing Growth Through Intimacy" (1981) and "Depression: A Wise Barometer" (1993) and "The Therapeutic Moment: a Double Sided Drama" (1996).
