Monsignor Lafitte is Professor of General Ethics in the Rome session of the Institute and a Visiting Professor of Christian Ethics in the Spanish, Mexican and Australian campuses. He has a B.A. in Political Science from Toulouse (1973) and language diplomas in several European languages from the Goethe Institute and the Universities of Cambridge and Salamanca (1977-80), a Bachelor of Theology from the Gregorian University (1988) and an STL from the Rome session of the John Paul II Institute (1990). He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1989. In 1994 he completed his Doctorate at the Rome session of the John Paul II Institute and was appointed a lecturer there. Since 1996 he has been a permanent professor of the Institute, and has assumed various administrative roles including Vice-President (Director) of the Roman session from 1999 to 2001. In 2000, Pope John Paul II named him a Chaplain of His Holiness (Monsignor). He has published extensively in the field of ethics, marriage and the family. His major work, "Le Pardon transfigure", has been translated into Czech, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Russian.
