Professor Mary Shivanandan
Mary is Associate Dean and Professor of Theology at the Washington session and Visiting Professor of Theological Anthropology in the Institute in Melbourne. She completed a MA in Classics at Cambridge University in 1967. In 1991 she was awarded the Licentiate in Sacred Theology at the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, and in 1995 she received her Doctorate in Sacred Theology, also at the Institute. Mary lectures on theological anthropology both in the John Paul II Institute and at the Catholic Institute for Psychological Sciences. She has lectured nationally and internationally to Catholic universities, seminaries, dioceses and family planning groups. Her many publications and papers include "Crossing the Threshold of Love: Contemporary Marriage in the Light of John Paul II's Anthropology" (1999).
