Dr Anna Silvas
Anna is Lecturer in Classical Greek at the University of New England and Lecturer in Theology in the Institute. She holds a BA in Semitic Studies (Hebrew and Aramaic/Syriac) from the University of Sydney, a MA (Hons) in classics from the University of Melbourne and a PhD in classics from the University of New England. Her doctoral dissertation covered the thought of the 4th century Cappadocian Fathers, encompassing work in Greek, Latin and Syriac. Anna has published widely in the areas of patristics and monasticism. She is the author of "The Rule of Our Holy Father Basil" (1993) and "Jutta and Hildegard: the Biographical Sources" (1998). In 2002 Anna taught JP523/623 Theology of the Family as the Domestic Church in the Institute. In 2003 she will teach JP522/622 Marriage in the Catholic Tradition.
