JP682 Short Masters Thesis
Some Masters students undertake a short research thesis (dissertation) of 20,000 words which investigates some significant question arising from the programme of studies and draws appropriate conclusions. The thesis should:
- demonstrate familiarity with basic methods of research;
- make a contribution to theology in an area germane to the Institute's goals and involving a limited, yet significant, problem of investigation;
- manifest mastery of the subject matter;
- indicate sound theological judgment;
- be adequately defended during the oral defence; and
- be worthy of publication, at least in part, in an academic journal.
