It has been a wonderful time at the John Paul II Institute. I have truly been extended in my understanding, with each course providing fresh insights that are life changing. I cannot understate the importance of the John Paul II institute, not only for the Catholic Church but for the world. Without it my ability to be a good member of society and a good Catholic would be far less. Each lecturer has elucidated new horizons of understanding that would never have been gained without their personal vocation and dedication. The community spirit is refreshing and encouraging. I feel empowered to now go forward to use what I have learned for the betterment of society and the Church.
Studying the Graduate Certificate in Religious Education provided me with an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the history and theology of the Catholic Church. What makes this course unique is that it allows students to apply their learning in a practical way, through the development of units of work and concrete materials for use in their own classrooms and schools.
Undertaking this course was one of the most valuable decisions I've made. It gave me the language and the foundation upon which to engage in ethical discussions pertaining to end-of-life care in my work with people with acquired communication and swallowing impairments.
This course has provided me with invaluable knowledge in my professional field of healthcare. It has allowed me to continue with further studies and contribute the knowledge I gained in an educated manner in secular environments.
