  Assessment Modes
Courses are assessed by the Course Co-ordinator by a mixture of written tasks, seminar presentations and written examinations as set down at the beginning of the semester. Oral examinations, though uncommon in Australia, are a particular feature of pontifical faculties such as the Institute. In those degree programmes with additional assessment requirements (Comprehensive Examination, Licentiate Lecture, Thesis) those assessment tasks will be taken into account in the overall assessment of the diploma or degree.

All written tasks should be prepared according to the Guidelines for Essays and Theses.

    Units are graded as follows:
    HD     High Distinction 85-100%
    DI     Distinction 70-84%
    CR     Credit 60-69%
    PA     Pass 50-59%
    FA     Fail 0-49%
    IN     Result pending
    WF     Withdrawal failing
